Course Objectives and Content

Course Objectives: To introduce the organization, functioning, and working principles of medical laboratories and to provide basic knowledge of laboratory processes.
Course Content: Hierarchy and Basic Concepts in Health Institutions, Medical Laboratory Regulations, Classification of Medical Laboratories, Occupational Health in Medical Laboratories, Safety in Medical Laboratories, Medical Laboratory Workers and Their Roles, Solution Preparation and Calculations, Automation Systems, Sample Acceptance/Rejection Criteria and Sample Working Rules, Medical Laboratories Devices and Equipment Used, Materials Used in Medical Laboratories, Sterilization and Disinfection, Preparation of Technical Specifications, Material Supply, Labeling and Storage.
