Course Objectives and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide students with the fundamental concepts and approaches in the field of sports and recreation; to teach the planning, coordination, implementation, and control processes in the management of sports facilities; and to enable them to conduct comparative analysis using national and international examples, as well as to develop competencies in creating strategies focused on digitalization and sustainability.
Course Content: This course examines the concepts of leisure time and recreation, the relationship between sports and recreation, and the recreational dimensions of different types of sports (amateur, professional, Olympic, etc.). It addresses the management, planning, coordination, implementation, and control processes of recreation and sports areas, focusing on current approaches and practices in Turkey. Students gain the ability to develop sustainable and innovative sports policies by relating theoretical knowledge to field applications.
