| Course Objectives: | This course includes a comprehensive examination of the basic theories and approaches in comparative politics. Therefore, this course has three main objectives: i) to introduce students to the comparative method, ii-) to introduce the main questions in comparative politics iii-) to introduce the basic assumptions, conditions and constraints applicable to the functioning of various political regimes and systems. |
| Course Content: | After discussing the comparative method and the development of Comparative Politics as a sub-discipline of Political Science, the emergence and development of the state, political regimes, regime changes and transition to democracy, political parties and party systems, elections and election systems, and government systems will be discussed. |
