General Information

Physiotherapists graduate from Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department as health professionals and work autonomously with an open and equal professional relationship with other health professionals. After completing 4 academic years and 8 semesters (240 ECTS), physiotherapists are responsible to carry out the planning of physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes and treatment using various forms of therapeutic approaches (therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization techniques, hydrotherapy, prosthetics and orthotics etc.). Physiotherapy and rehabilitation concerns about measuring and evaluating physical functions of body systems, improving quality of life, functional capacity, and prevention, treatment/intervention approaches. Therefore, physiotherapy and rehabilitation curriculum focuses on comprehensive review/assessment techniques, organizes the outcomes, and uses physiotherapy interventions/treatments as essential components for evidence-based rehabilitation practices, community-based rehabilitation, multidisciplinary work and professionalism, and humanistic, ethical, informed development.
