Course Objectives and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach writing techniques for texts used in the context of media relations within the discipline of public relations. The course aims to teach the writing processes and types of texts necessary for public relations, such as press releases, invitation letters, speeches for traditional media, and press releases for social media.
Course Content: Teaching and applying the rules of public relations copywriting, explaining the writing style, types of text, and their importance in media relations. Detailed explanation of different types of text, such as press releases, press invitations, internal communication, and corporate announcements. Learning how to create public relations copy for various communication channels.

Program Outcomes
1) Knows theories and practices in the field of radio and television; film genres, cinema movements and theories.
2) To have knowledge about social, cultural and political fields such as psychology, sociology, philosophy, arts, economics, which are related to the field of radio, television and cinema.
3) Knows the national and international historical development, professional ethical principles, legal regulations and practices related to the field of radio, television and cinema.
4) Has knowledge about the analysis processes of media content in audiovisual media.
5) Knows the types of programs in radio and television broadcasting.
6) Has knowledge about professional business life practices, occupational health and safety issues.
7) Has the ability to produce and implement projects individually or as a team member in pre-production, production and post-production processes with an entrepreneurial and creative perspective, in accordance with ethical principles.
8) Can write a script and prepare a shooting script.
9) Can produce and direct different types of films such as long or short feature films, advertising and promotional films and documentary films.
10) Can make sound and image editing, can design images.
11) To be able to conduct interdisciplinary scientific researches and analyse data in the field of radio, television and cinema and other related fields.
12) To be able to communicate effectively in at least one foreign language, both orally and in writing.
13) Creates images using the principles of visual design in the fields of cinema and television.
14) Uses visual and audio technical equipment in accordance with the basic principles of image aesthetics, cinematographic expression and composition, creates media content.
15) Acts consciously and sensitively about the universal and social effects of products produced in the field of radio, television and cinema such as human rights, cultural diversity, environmental problems, public interest.
