Course Objectives and Content

Course Objectives: ntroduce the Basic Principles and Application Areas of Classical Massage, Connective Tissue Massage, and Deep Friction Massage: Provide students with comprehensive knowledge of the historical development, basic principles, application areas, and clinical potential of these three core types of massage.
Teach the Structure and Function of Connective Tissue: Provide a detailed understanding of connective tissue anatomy and biomechanical properties to help students understand the physiological effects of massage on this tissue. Additionally, explain which techniques can be used to enhance the function of connective tissue in the body.
Develop an Understanding of Massage Mechanisms and Application Skills: Explain the mechanisms of massage on muscles, nerves, and connective tissue, enabling students to grasp these mechanisms and perform professional-level applications.
Develop Skills to Create Treatment Protocols: Teach students to select and apply appropriate massage techniques for specific cases, create treatment plans, and develop individualized treatment protocols.
Teach the Physiological and Therapeutic Effects of Deep Friction and Connective Tissue Massage on Tissues: Provide knowledge about the effects of deep friction and connective tissue massage on the musculoskeletal, circulatory, and nervous systems, explaining how these effects are linked to clinical outcomes.
Enhance Skills to Apply Massage Techniques in Clinical Situations: Enable students to assess which massage techniques are suitable for specific clinical conditions, apply these techniques safely and effectively, and adapt them to meet individual patient needs.
Course Content: -Indications and contraindications of classical massage, connective tissue massage and deep friction massage in the field of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
-Functional anatomy of soft tissues
-Massage movements and regional applications

Through making evaluation, diagnosis and planning required for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation applications, s/he applies them to healthy, disabled and all necessary people.
2) S/he gains awareness of social rights, ethics and social responsibility.
3) S/he follows digital transformation and uses information and communication technologies competently.
4) S/he participates in various researches, projects and activities in order to protect public health. S/he contributes to the creation of health policies in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation fields in accordance with the changing and diversified needs of society.
5) S/he can work independently, take initiative, take responsibility and decisions.
6) S/he knows how to work together, take duties and responsibilities, and leads the team when necessary.
