Course Objectives and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the lesson is to provide the student with the basic concepts of surgical diseases, diseases that require intervention, diagnostic methods, mechanisms of occurrence, surgical interventions to be performed, complications and treatments, and the ability to approach a holistic approach in line with the nursing process for pre-operative, during and post-operative care of the surgical patient.
Course Content: Basic concepts related to surgical diseases, hospital infections, pain, shock, fluid-electrolyte balance, acid-base balance, definition of surgical diseases, physiopathology, diagnostic methods, surgical interventions, possible complications during surgery for each system, before, during and after surgery maintenance.
