Course Objectives and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to analyze media texts by giving
information about communication theories and models. At the end of this
course, from students are expected to approach the means of mass
communication critically and develop critical perspectives in the light of the
theories developed in the historical process.
Course Content: In this course, the theories developed in the field of communication are covered
in the general social theory. The basic concepts and arguments of
communication theories will be presented in a historical, cultural and intellectual
context.

1) In this course, students gain knowledge about the mass, communication, media industry, the historical change of mass communication theories and the relationship of this change with economic and political variables.

1) In this course, students can support their thoughts on media-related issues and their solutions to problems with the theoretical background of communication and share with experts or non-professionals.

4) Have knowledge of new media literacy.
5) Have knowledge of the standards of national and international professional organisations, ethical codes, and legal regulations related to the field.
6) Have knowledge of professional practices, occupational health and safety.
7) Can effectively apply content production and management processes in digital media in accordance with ethical principles and a creative perspective.
8) Acquires critical media literacy skills and analyze digital platforms.
9) Have application skills in multimedia content design and visual design.
